Consumer Product Safety Commission Reports 90 Child Drownings Since Memorial Day

The Unites States Consumer Product Safety Commission has reported 90 drowning incidents involving children under the age of 15 since Memorial Day 2012.  An additional 106 children have suffered injuries as a result of near-drowning incidents.  Of those who drowned, 72% were under the age of 5. Houston Car Accident Involving 16 Kids—Driver Charged with Child Endangerment

Monday July 10, 2012 a daycare van was involved in a crash on the north side of Houston at Gulf Bank and Sam Houston Tollway.  The van’s driver, as well as the sixteen children on board, were transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.  The driver, an employee of Alpha Kids Center as well as the owner, Darryl Freeman, have been charged with injury to a child and criminal negligence.
